Hôpital Notre-Dame Hospital is a modern, 44-bed hospital, fully accredited, that provides both inpatient and outpatient care to the citizens of Hearst and surrounding areas.  Its referral population of some 11,500 includes people living 50 kilometers to the east, 130 kilometers to the west on the Highway 11 corridor, 135 kilometers southwest to the municipality of Hornepayne, 80 kilometers to the north and 80 kilometers to the south.  The Hospital is also the service facility for the First Nation Reserve at Constance Lake (32 kilometers to the northwest). Adjacent to the Hospital, there is a medical center which accommodates seven of the eight active staff medical practitioners in the premises of the Nord-Aski Family Health Services. Located also at the medical clinic are the Aging at Home Program, the Home and Community Care (HCC), the Midwife, the Nord-Aski Diabetes Centre, Addiction Services as well as two apartments.
